Bobby

Bobby Michael, CoFounder of Maverick House, is known for his artistry, technical mastery, and general goofiness.  He is a highly sought-after colorist and stylist for the fashion and music industry, having worked with such notable commercial clients as Versace and Ana Sui.  His work has been featured in Elle, Vogue, Nylon, and Oyster Magazines as well as Mode and American Express Style.

Originally from Wisconsin, Bobby first developed his skills as the master colorist of Cowboys and Angels San Francisco moving on to lead their education program.  Before long Bobby’s reputation began resonating within New York's exclusive editorial climate and he relocated to NYC to hone his expertise under hair styling genius Garren.  This invaluable experience led him to his current title of Global Educator with RandCo, RandCo Bleu, RandColor, and RandCo EDU.

As an artist, Bobby draws inspiration from numerous eclectic sources, whether it's the street style in NYC, the supermodels of the 90s, or any number of musicians of the 70’s.

Liz

Liz Wright, CoFounder of Maverick House, was born to be a trendsetter. From childhood, Liz has been a creator in every aspect of life, from classical voice training to making her own clothes and fulfilling her purpose as a leader in the hair industry. Liz credits her first mentor Jordan Schwartz with staying true to her heart and soul as an artist.

Liz blends her expertise in color science to craft beautiful on-trend color but pushes the edge of style by finding inspiration in anything from a Banksy to a stained glass window. She is especially invigorated by the nonconforming, gender-blurring energy found in the Queer community and will stop at nothing to ensure that everyone leaves her chair feeling – and looking – exactly the way they want to.

An educator for over a decade, Liz believes that training others is the best way to learn herself, leading her to become one of a handful of stylists from across the nation on Wella Professional’s Design Team. Other highlights from Liz’ career include NYC fashion week, volunteering for DapperQ fashion show and contracting for Lady Gaga’s ArtPop album launch

Edris

Edris Nicholls continues to be a trailblazer in fashion after more than thirty years in the business. At a time when it was rare to find a black woman on Madison Avenue, Edris was honing her raw talent as a hair stylist at Warren Tricomi. In 2003 she opened her first salon in the then deserted Meatpacking District and it was in that space that Edris established herself as a true visionary, taking traditional styles and infusing them with eccentricity and her own rebellious twist.

She has been sought after by designers all over the world for her distinctive creativity, with her work appearing on the runway for houses as esteemed as Azzedeine Alaia, Thierry Mugler, Prada, Givenchy, Dior, Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein, Versace, Ralph Lauren and McQueen.  The editorial world also embraced Edris' creations: Her styles have been featured in American Vogue, ID, Interview, W, Essence, Suede and Nylon to name just a few.

In 2010 L'Oreal invited Edris to lead the Shu Uemura US Atelier Team in designing an iconic haircut. The style Edris dreamed up remains a foundation for many looks today and established her as an artist as much as a stylist. With this ethos in mind, Edris has gone on to collaborate with Afro-American artist Lorna Simpson on Chess (2013), a large-scale exhibition shown at Jeu de Paume in Paris. And today, you can find Edris' hair designs in A Life in Photography, a collection of Kurt Marcus photos currently being shown at Stanley-Wise Gallery in New York City.

Crystal

I made the leap to New York City in the fall of 2021, after nearly two decades in San Francisco/Oakland, where I specialized in delivering exceptional hospitality and crafting dazzling custom cocktails. Upon arrival to the east coast, I explored a bucket list job as a fishmonger at a boutique market in Brooklyn while contemplating my next big move.

Driven by a longtime passion for hairstyling, I pivoted my career at Arrojo Academy in SoHo. I graduated at the top of my class and secured a position at the renowned Maverick House. Today, I’m thrilled to be working alongside some of the most talented stylists in the industry.

I’m particularly passionate about precision cuts and creative styling, drawing inspiration from avant-garde art, the intensity of nature, and the vibrancy of counterculture. A fun fact about me: I used to do stand-up comedy!

Lee

Lee spent four years in the fashion industry before making the switch to pursue a career in the hair industry. They grew up in South Jersey with a love for hair experimentation, encouraged by their mother, who was a hairstylist in 1980s Pennsylvania.

They view hair the same way they view personal style: as an extension of identity and a tool to unlock your truest self. They’re inspired by Queer subculture, with a keen interest in the 1970s and 1980s New York scene.
